    Born in Hyogo Prefecture, he graduated from Nishiwaki High School. Recent activities include exhibitions at the Nantenshi Gallery in 1982, 1984 and 1991, the 1985 Paris Biennial, the San Paulo Biennial, "Tokyo Form and Spirit" in 1986 (Los Angeles Museum of Modern Art and a U.S. tour), "Japanese Avant-Garde Art 1910-1970" (Paris, Pompidou Center), the Saison Art Museum in 1987, the Fuji TV Gallery, Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburg, the 1988 Modern Poster Exhibition (New York Museum of Modern Art), the 1989 Bangladesh Asian Art Biennial, the 1990 Toyama Shimin Plaza, Seed Hall in Shibuya, the 1991 Kirin Plaza Osaka, Sagacho Exhibit Space, and "Beyond JAPAN: A Photo Theatre" (the Barbican Art Gallery, London).

    Born in Hyogo Prefecture. Holds a solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (New York) in 1972. Subsequent participation in the biennales of Paris, Venice, Sao Paulo, and Bangladesh place Yokoo on the world stage. His many foreign exhibitions, such as solo exhibitions at the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam) and the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain (Paris), bring Yokoo international acclaim. The Yokoo Tadanori Museum of Contemporary Art is established in Kobe in 2012. The Teshima Yokoo House is established on Teshima Island in Kagawa Prefecture in 2013. Awarded the 27th Praemium Imperiale in 2015. Yokoo’s works are in the collections of major art museums in Japan and abroad, and solo exhibitions are scheduled in coming years at art museums around the world.
