    Born in Tokyo. After graduating in art from Tokyo Kyoiku University, he spent a year researching design and photography. He established the Katsui Design Office in 1961 after working for Ajinomoto Co., Ltd. His awards include the Japan Advertising Artists Club Award, the International Poster Biennale Warsaw Gold Medal, the Bruno International Graphic Design Biennale Silver Medal and Grand Prize, as well as the 1992 Recommended Artists Award from the Ministry of Education, in 1992. He is a member of the Tokyo ADC, JAGDA, TDS and the AGI. Books: "Graphic Design in the World," "Modern Design Dictionary," and "Modern Graphic Design System CG Edition" among others.

    Born in Tokyo. After graduation from Tokyo University of Education, he initially worked for Ajinomoto until he established his own design office in 1961. His field is visual design, primarily focused on visually infusing information into graphic design. His range of activities is remarkably wide, including art direction of numerous expositions, design education, and serving as a judge at international competitions. He is a member of Tokyo ADC and AGI and serves as a director of JAGDA. He is Professor Emeritus at Musashino Art University.
