  • Graphic Design's Events

    The Design Directors Organization is established. The Tokyo Art Directors Club celebrates its 40th anniversary. The Japan Design Society (abbreviated JD), a new design organization centering on designers and creators in the Kansai region, is established. Graphic designer Eiko Ishioka wins the Award for Best Costume Design at the 65th Academy Awards, impressing many with her achievements. Illustrator 5.0 is introduced, offering a much improved interface and functionality.
