Each year, an exhibition is held to introduce the winners of the annual Tokyo Type Directors Club Awards, an international competition conducted by the Tokyo TDC to bring together the latest works in the realm of typography. In 2008 (entries called in autumn 2007) , thanks to increasing acclaim and attention both at home and abroad, the competition attracted a total of 3,140 entries: 2,283 domestic and 857 from overseas. This exhibition displayed roughly 100 works, including those that were selected as award winners through a rigorous judging process, works that had been nominated for awards, and outstanding entries of note.
