年鑑『日本のタイポディレクション’94』刊行に先駆けて開く恒例のTDC（東京タイポディレクターズクラブ）展。金賞の仲條正義をはじめ、年鑑受賞者にジェイソン・ケッジレイ、ニクラウス・トロックスラー等海外作家を含めて97点を展示。また、コンピュータを駆使して独自のタイポグラフィ領域を開拓しているジョン前田の実験作品を特別展示。

A TDC exhibition regularly held before the annual report, "Japan Typodirection '94," is published. 97 works were shown including the Gold Prize winner, and foreign award-winning artists. On special exhibit were experimental works by John Maeda who is cultivating his own area in typography using computers.

宇都宮市生まれ。戦後、進駐軍がもたらした数々のアメリカのパッケージに衝撃を受け、1960年パッケージディレクションを設立。パッケージデザイナーの先駆者として、1968年からパッケージの新しい在り方を提案する個展を開催。明るくリズミカルなデザインで独自の世界をつくり出す。活動は国内にとどまらず、NYブルーミングデール百貨店のショッピングバッグのデザインなども手がける。1967年ニューヨーク・トップパッケージング賞、1981年東京ADC賞、1985年日本パッケージデザイン大賞特賞、2003年日本パッケージデザイン大賞金賞など受賞多数。著書に『木村勝のパッケージディレクション』『アール・デコのパッケージ』など。東京ADC、東京TDC、JAGDA会員。

Born in Utsunomiya, Katsu Kimura was inspired by the American packages brought by the Occupation forces after the War and established himself as a package designer in 1960. As a pioneer in the field of package design, his first solo exhibition in 1968 proposed  a new concept of packaging. He uses lively, rhythmical designs to create his own unique world. Kimura's activities are not limited to Japan, and he counts the design of shopping bags for Bloomingdale's Department Store in New York among his projects. His numerous awards include the New York Top Packaging Award, the Tokyo Art Directors Club Award, and the Japan Package Design Award special Prize and Golden Prize. He is a member of the Tokyo Art Directors Club and the Japan Graphic Designers Association.
