    Born in Amsterdam, he studied at the Art School Amsterdam and was a graphic designer assistant in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. After freelancing as a designer for 13 years from 1953, he joined Total Design, a renowned Amsterdam design company, as partner / director. He established his own studio, Studio Anthon Beeke bv, in 1989. He has been a visiting lecturer at art and design colleges throughout the United States and in an AGI member.
