The exhibition showcased works by the 2009 winners of the Tokyo TDC Awards, an annual international design competition held by the Tokyo Type Directors Club that is garnering solid recognition and increasing attention both in Japan and overseas as a contest that brings together the newest and most innovative works in typography design. This year, 9 award winners were selected from among 3,316 entries received in autumn 2008: 2,386 from Japan and 930 from 27 other countries. The exhibition featured the 9 prize-winning works plus others that were either nominated or judged to be of outstanding merit. The exhibition rooms were filled with cutting-edge works from around the world, including experimental works demonstrating new possibilities, making for a unique display of today's most exciting developments in design.
