Tokyo Type Directors Club Exhibition present the results of an open international design competition organized annually by the Tokyo Type Directors Club (TDC). The 2012 show featured the selected works from among 3,289 entries (2,265 from Japan and 1,024 from overseas) submitted in autumn 2011. These included the 10 winners of the 2012 TDC Awards plus other nominated works and other outstanding entries. Every years the judges select works that are both cutting-edge and experimental, and this year again the exhibition space was filled with both energizing and finely wrought works of remarkable variety: from an enormous works of typographic public art 2,200 square meters in scale to font designs pursuing typographic beauty at the level of one tenth of a millimeter.
